Relly Rish is a hip-hop artist from East Palo Alto, California, whose music channels the distinct energy of the Bay Area
— moving between San Francisco, East Palo Alto, and Oakland, and drawing on the sound and stories of each. His music
centers on authenticity, resilience, and creative freedom.
He started writing his own lyrics around age 12, and his father — who ran his own record label — began bringing him
into the recording studio by 15. Relly Rish held back his first official release until after a transformative period following
his release from California State Prison, an experience that continues to shape his perspective as an artist. He's focused on
being recognized for depth rather than as just another rapper in the mix.
In his own words: "Pop Star," one of his most personal songs and a fan favorite, was written while he was incarcerated in
San Francisco County Jail and later finished during the pandemic, "fighting for my life" and writing "with my back
against the wall." One of his standout live moments to date was performing "Pop Star" at a Coast to Coast showcase in
Oakland — a city, he says, that consistently shows him love.
